BETTER BODIES CLINIC POLICIES

We require a 24 hour advance notice in order to cancel any service. After 24 hours your accoun will NOT be credited. ALL APPOINTMENTS MUST BE PREPAID.
If your appointment is not cancelled within this notification period, your appointment is considered confirmed. Any changes or cancellations made after the 24 hour window are subject to a full charge for each service at the discretion of Better Bodies. Because of this policy, a valid credit card number is required at time of booking. This policy also applies to series, package and gift certificate holders.
Late Arrival: All appointments have been designed to allow appropriate time for full enjoyment of each service. Your late arrival may limit our ability to offer the fullest possible experience. Please be aware that late arrivals of 10 minutes or more may not be able to be afforded extension of scheduled treatments. Treatments may be rendered only for the remainder of the scheduled appointment and you will be responsible for payment for the full service.

Gift Certificates:
STUDENT CLINIC WAVIER: The Student Clinic is not a spa nor a full-service clinical practice. The school clinic is an educational atmosphere that allows massage students to master skills learned in class. Students in the massage program participate to develop their hand-skill knowledge.
PURPOSE: Clinic is part of the Massage Therapy Certificate Program at BBMI. Students in the Program are required to perform 100 massage sessions in the Clinic to gain valuable experience. These sessions are based on the skills the students have at each point in their training.
SESSION FORMAT: Sessions may be scheduled for 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes dependingon student confidence. Your student therapist will review your health history, discuss your preferences, and determine what type of session you would like to receive. During the session, they will ask for your feedback as appropriate. At the end, they'll check in about your experiences of the session. This is an opportunity for you to receive a good massage in a learning environment.
ABOUT YOUR MASSAGE: You will have the opportunity to receive either: a full-body massage for general relaxation and wellness, or a more focused regional massage to one or two areas of the body.
SUPERVISION: A licensed educator and therapist will be present to supervise the work of your student therapist. Faculty may step in as appropriate to offer feedback to a student.
STUDENT REQUESTS: Student appointments are randomly assigned. Gender preferences are not honored and requests for appointments with specific students are not guaranteed. Please don’t request a male or female therapist. If we accede to such requests, that denies some students the opportunity to work on a body type or physical condition; and that’s simply not fair to the students. (If us assigning only a male, or only a female, is vital to you, we recommend that you please schedule with one of the licensed massage therapists) This is a learning environment for all our students. We intend to give them all an equal opportunity.
SPECIAL NEEDS: Each client is unique, so please let us know in advance if you have medical conditions such as allergies, heart conditions, diabetes, pregnancy (must be past 1st trimester), etc. This will allow us to personalize your services.
TREATMENT SETTING: Students use full-sheet draping, which means your body will remain covered on the table always, except for the area being massaged.
CLINIC ENVIRONMENT: We endeavor to provide a caring and relaxing environment for your massage experience. We ask that clients keep conversation with their student therapists focused on the details of the treatment, and that voices are kept at a quiet level. Cell phone use is prohibited.
HEALTH STATUS: You are required to fill out a Health Questionnaire, and to read and sign the attached Client Consent Form. Your safety and well-being are primary concerns; this information allows us to determine whether there are existing conditions that are contraindicated for massage therapy. If you are currently under a physician’s care, you are encouraged to consult with your provider before booking a massage session.
SCHEDULING: All appointments must be booked and paid in advance in office or online at www.betterbodiesclinic.com.com. It is permissible to book two successive sessions, but your treatments may be with two different students.
COST: The cost of a 60-minute clinic massage session is $45.00; this cost covers the lotions, electric, linens, laundry etc. This is payable to BBMI at the time of booking. The school accepts VISA/MC/AMEX and cash. Once paid, the fee is non-refundable, should you miss a session for any reason we’ll do our best to reschedule you. By state law, students may not receive compensation for their work. (This includes gratuities.)
SHOWING UP: There are a limited number of clinic days for our students, and their ability to complete their course requirements depends on clients showing up as scheduled. If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please give BBMI at least 24 hours notice.
LATE ARRIVALS: If you are more than 10 minutes late for your massage appointment, you will either receive a shorter session, or no session at all. This will be at the discretion of the school. There will be no credits or refunds.
Loss or Damage
We regret that we cannot be responsible for the loss or damage of personal items.
TRANSFERRING YOUR APPOINTMENT: If you cannot make your appointment and you get another person to take your place, please notify the school in advance of the appointment. The person must complete their own Client Consent Form and Health Questionnaire.
AGE LIMIT: Persons must be at least 18 years of age to receive treatment in the Clinic; younger clients must be attended by a parent.
Gift certificates are available, and are valid for six (6) months. You may pay with cash, debit or credit card (AMEX, Visa or Mastercard). We do not accept personal checks, post-dated or second-party checks. There are no refunds on gift certificates or appointments.
Students may not receive tips. That could prevent them from being licensed in the State of Alabama. Any gratuities will be donated to the Better Bodies Massage Progam Scholarship Fund.
